Dutch pilot growers cut chemical crop protection use by 64%

Seven pilot growers participating in the Dutch programme 100% Groen Geteeld ("100% Grown Green") are making significant progress toward more sustainable cultivation. In their second season, participants achieved a 64% reduction in the use of active substances from chemical crop protection products per hectare.

At a dedicated crop day organised by the Federation of Fruit and Vegetable Organisations (FVO), more than 80 growers gained insight into the programme's approach, practical experiences, and results to date. The practical project has been extended to a fourth season, allowing participants to build further experience with the aim of making this approach both scalable and commercially viable.
