Large-scale tomato project for The Valley in Netherlands

Havecon has commenced the realisation of a large-scale greenhouse project of over 15 hectares for The Valley in Vierpolders, the Netherlands. The project, referred to by the client as Prince Valley, marks the first collaboration between The Valley and Havecon and represents an important step in the company's continued growth ambitions.

The Valley is a leading producer of vegetables for the European market, with a strong focus on tomatoes. The company was formed through the merger of several family-owned businesses and operates multiple growing locations across the Netherlands. With a clear ambition to expand to over 100 hectares in the coming years, The Valley is one of the fastest-growing players in the Dutch greenhouse horticulture sector. The organisation is characterised by its combination of scale, collaboration and innovation, continuously working on efficient and future-oriented cultivation concepts.

The new project in Vierpolders aligns seamlessly with this growth strategy. The greenhouse will be dedicated to the cultivation of non-illuminated tomatoes, with the entire setup optimised to make the most effective use of natural light. This approach supports an efficient and future-proof cultivation strategy.

The construction of the project will be carried out by Voorwinden Groep, Havecon's strategic partner. This collaboration brings together the expertise of both parties, contributing to a high-quality and future-proof realisation.

Construction activities will commence next week with piling works. According to the current schedule, steel construction is set to start at the end of April. In the months that follow, the greenhouse will be further constructed and technically equipped, with the first plants expected to enter the greenhouse by mid-December.
