North India's horti expo debuts with full value-chain focus

This week's launch of Horti Agri India Expo 2026, taking place between 12-14th March at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, establishes a dedicated B2B hub for North India's booming horticulture sector, says Shubham Gupta of SV Global Expo, the show's organizer. "We're zeroing in on horticulture-specific solutions to drive business deals, technology transfer and real sector talk, unlike general ag fairs."

The expo will connect professionals to solutions across the entire value-chain. "Sectors represented include greenhouse technologies, irrigation and fertigation systems, planting materials, seeds and nurseries, precision agriculture tools, allied machinery, plus fertilizers, micronutrients and crop protection products. It also spans post-harvest solutions, vertical farming, landscape and nursery segments."

Sign-ups show strong momentum from Indian companies, as well as international interest, for the first edition. "India's new trade agreements with New Zealand, EU and USA have already sparked exchanges on greenhouse systems, planting materials and post-harvest technology. Hosting horticulture events that draw delegates from those regions, as well as neighbouring countries, not only sets the stage for collaborations, but also gives exhibitors and visitors the chance to assess what the future of Indian horticulture looks like," Shubham mentions.

The expo is lining up the region's manufacturers, distributors, importers, exporters, institutional buyers and progressive growers. We also have participation from the Indian Society of Ornamental Horticulture (ISOH), National Horticulture Board (NHB), the Embassy of Netherlands and India Florist Association. Their presence opens doors to policy insights, global best practices and high-value networking. Visitors can benchmark on ground realities alongside updating their knowledge on the Indian horticulture and ornamental market" Gupta explains.

Trade Mission Pairs with Expo
East-West Trade & Consulting (EWTC), a Netherlands-focused firm specializing in B2B market entry for emerging regions like India, is running a Horticulture and Ornamental Sector trade mission between 11-16th March. Structured around Horti India Expo 2026 as its European partner, the program offers first-time entrants a launchpad into India's horticulture landscape, says Matthijs of EWTC.

"It's one of India's few platforms covering produce and ornamentals, with a big overlap in seeds, irrigation, fertilizers and greenhouse tech." The mission emphasizes grasping local grower practices, climate strategies, labor dynamics and costs before commercial matchmaking. "India's scale offers huge potential, but its market dynamics differ from Europe. Preparation means understanding local realities first."
