Starting yesterday, the U.S. will implement a 10% global tariff

Starting Tuesday (24 February), the United States will implement a 10% global tariff on imported goods, even though President Donald Trump recently said he would raise it to 15%. This series of conflicting messages has heightened uncertainty about U.S. trade policy.

Last Friday, after the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling to overturn much of his tariff plans, Trump stated that he would swiftly impose a uniform 10% tariff on all trading partners through a different legal mechanism.

Hours later, the president posted on his Truth Social account that the global tariff would be raised from 10% to 15% immediately, claiming he had the legal authority to do so. However, ultimately, it will stay at 10%.
