Over the past month, the average auction price of Black aubergines in Almeria has fallen by up to 469.33%.
According to an analysis by Hortoinfo, based on daily vegetable prices at the Almeria auctions, the average price of black aubergines dropped from 2.96 euros per kilo on January 26 to 0.52 euros per kilo on February 19, i.e., nearly one-sixth of the January figure.
The most significant decline happened between January 21 and February 2, with the average price dropping by 1.09 euros per kilo over just four days of sales. Afterward, the black aubergine experienced a brief rebound, reaching 1.90 euros per kilo on February 5. However, according to Hortoinfo's calculations based on auction records, the price has gradually decreased to 0.52 euros per kilo by Thursday, February 19.
