Following the review of greenhouse vegetable pricing by producers, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia began analyzing prices for cucumbers among the largest retail chains.
According to the press service of the department, the networks must provide information for the period from November 1, 2025 to February 15, 2026 on the weekly dynamics of weighted average purchase and retail prices for cucumbers, as well as the volume of their purchase and sale. Prices for all commodity items of cucumbers purchased and sold by organizations, regardless of their price segment, will be analyzed, the FAS noted. Inquiries have been sent to the X5, Magnit, Dixy, Auchan, OK, Lenta, Metro, Monetka, Globus, Vernon, Maria Ra and Azbuka Vkusa groups of companies.
"Based on the data obtained, the agency will analyze the validity of setting wholesale and retail prices for this product, as well as check how the networks translate the change in purchase prices into the value "on the shelf." Based on the results of the analysis, if there are grounds, the FAS of Russia will take antitrust response measures," the antimonopoly service said.
The FAS has sent inquiries to a number of companies regarding prices for greenhouse vegetables. In mid-January, the FAS sent requests to the largest producers of protected soil vegetables: companies belonging to the ROST, ECO-Culture, Gorkunov, Magnit, Greenhouses of the Regions and My Summer groups. "At the moment, the service is studying the incoming information," the department said.
