As vegetable growers face increasing uncertainty from shifting market conditions, economic pressures and variable growing conditions, Seminis has launched its new Seasoned Vegetables Campaign, a celebration of the varieties that have delivered consistent, reliable performance for growers over time.
At the heart of the campaign is recognition of the growers who have built businesses and market reputations on these dependable varieties that have continued to experience exceptional yield potential, quality and harvestability for more than 8 to 10+ years in commercial production.
"Successful seasons are built on reliability, and that's becoming harder to come by," said Emily Standley, Communications Manager for Bayer Vegetable Seeds US/CAN. "The Seasoned Vegetables Campaign recognizes both the products and the collaborations that have stood the test of time. These products aren't just part of our history; they remain a critical part of growers' success today."
While Seminis is widely known for bringing innovative, first-of-their-kind varieties to market, the Seasoned Vegetables Campaign acknowledges that innovation should also be viewed through a longer lens, highlighting products that have continued to be high-performing and consistent over time. Many of these seasoned varieties have become industry benchmarks, helping to support both grower profitability and consistent supply to markets year after year.
To formally recognize their longevity, each variety in the Clockwork Series is marked with a "Years Proven" designation, reinforcing each varietal's successful track record and providing confidence with Seminis' 150-year history. The varieties included meet a strict criterion, including long-term field performance, quality benchmarks, top commercial adoption and demonstrate reliability.
Seminis today introduced the Seasoned Vegetables Campaign to the industry during the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) event in San Diego, offering growers and industry partners a first look at the initial campaign video, and the products the brand is honoring.
Varieties celebrated in this campaign include some long-standing Seminis favorites, such as Huntington Peppers, Ironman Broccoli, Aristotle X3R Peppers, and Obsession Sweet Corn.
