Elburg-Smit has achieved the BRCGS Packaging certification.
"With this certification, we demonstrate that our packaging and working methods meet high standards for safety and quality, as required within the food industry. For customers in the botanical sector, this means they can continue to rely on the trusted service they know, now with added assurance and future readiness," said the company in a statement.

The certification is the result of an intensive eighteen-month process. During this period, an internal team, supported by an external specialist, worked on establishing and documenting clear processes, agreements, and controls.
"Within the horticulture market, we have been working for years with customers who set increasingly high standards for traceability, material safety, and process control," says Johan Brandsma. "With this certification, we demonstrate that we not only understand these requirements, but have structurally embedded them within our organization."

During the audit, all aspects of the process were assessed: from materials and test orders to logistics controls, documentation, and internal audits. Any minor improvement points were addressed and implemented immediately. For example, the logistics department now works with additional checklists, and trucks are inspected for contamination or unwanted substances.
