Azura wants to develop an alternative to coconut fiber and is launching biochar production

The Franco-Moroccan group Azura has announced on LinkedIn that it is strengthening its sustainable investment strategy through scientific partnerships.

The first partnership is with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) for a research program aimed at developing an alternative substrate to coconut fiber, with a view to reducing its dependence on imported resources and promoting more sustainable solutions for greenhouse production.

Azura also intends to explore the production of biochar in collaboration with the companies Netzero and Carbonostrum. Produced by pyrolysis of biomass, this technology helps to improve soil health while contributing to carbon sequestration.

"These collaborations illustrate Azura's determination to place innovation at the heart of its agricultural model, in order to strengthen its resilience, improve the environmental performance of its activities and contribute to the development of knowledge useful to the sector. Investing in research is a sustainable investment in the future," according to the group on its professional social network.
