Registrations are now open for an anticipated event in the organics recycling calendar for 2026, the Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA) Annual Conference.
Join us in Melbourne from 22–24 April 2026 at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park for three days of insight, innovation and connection across the organics recycling sector. Early bird pricing is available until 27 February 2026, with tickets on sale now via the conference website.
The 2026 conference theme, "Compost for Life. Saving our Soils," will explore the strategies, technologies and policy settings shaping the future of organics recycling. The program will feature high-profile keynotes, expert presentations and panel discussions, sharing practical insights and experiences from across Australia and internationally.
The 2026 International Keynote has been confirmed as Alzbeta Bouskova, Ecogas (New Zealand), presenting "Closing the Loop Twice: How anaerobic digestion delivers renewable energy and soil regeneration." Drawing on lessons from New Zealand's first large-scale anaerobic digestion facility, the presentation will highlight the policy, regulatory and commercial settings that enable integrated organics processing, renewable energy recovery and improved soil health outcomes.
As in previous years, the conference opens with Demonstration Day on Wednesday 22 April. This hands-on day offers a unique opportunity to see the latest equipment and machinery in action, compare technologies, speak directly with manufacturers, and explore potential capital investments for your operation.
Conference plenary sessions commence on Thursday 23 April at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. With the program close to finalisation, sessions will span key industry themes including Circular Economy in Action, Soil Health and Regeneration, Technology Showcase, Innovation and Research, Compost Quality and Standards, and Procurement and Engagement.
A significant exhibition will once again form a core part of the event, providing a face-to-face platform for suppliers and service providers to showcase their latest products and capabilities. Exhibition space is almost sold out, reflecting strong industry demand. Networking remains a cornerstone of the conference, with formal and informal opportunities throughout, including the popular conference dinner on the evening of 23 April.
