The Ukrainian government has allocated more than UAH 400 million to finance the grant program for the development of horticulture and greenhouse farming in 2026, the acceptance of applications for which was resumed from February 2, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky said on the air of a national telethon.
"This year, more than UAH 400 million has been allocated for the grant program for orchards and greenhouses, with UAH 220 million earmarked for greenhouse development. The final amount may be adjusted based on submitted applications, but the funding targets will remain unchanged," he said.
According to the deputy minister, the project focuses on supporting small and medium-sized agribusinesses, creating jobs in rural areas, and assisting relocated enterprises.
Under the program, farmers can receive up to UAH 10 million for establishing orchards (up to UAH 400,000 per hectare) and up to UAH 7 million for greenhouse construction. In frontline territories, the state provides up to 80% co-financing, while in other regions it covers 50%.
Vysotsky noted that the list of supported crops includes all major species grown under Ukraine's natural and climatic conditions, including apples, blueberries, hazelnuts, apricots, peaches, and other berry and nut plantations.
"Grants are available both to existing farmers and those planning to start their own agricultural businesses," the deputy minister emphasized.
Mandatory requirements remain the creation of new jobs, the presence of irrigation systems, and compliance of greenhouses with standard modular designs. Applications are submitted through the Diia portal. According to industry associations, government support has helped accelerate the development of horticulture in Ukraine fourfold compared with pre-war levels.
