The new combined weight machine for processing products in trays, called 'Smart', and covered by a patent from the Italian company Bulltec, will be presented at this year's Fruit Logistica. "This new technology," explains owner Ruggiero Ricci, "allows for a production capacity of up to 50 cases per minute, offers various technical configurations, and preserves precise handling of delicate products. It is an innovation designed to meet the productivity and efficiency requirements of modern fruit and vegetable processing lines."

This new machine has two key advantages. "First, it has built-in central weighing units and combination receiving conveyors on the right and left. Second, it maintains an adequate processing speed while achieving a high stroke-per-minute output. The product can be discharged alternately to the right and left, effectively doubling efficiency."
But that's not all. In 2025, Bulltec formed a strategic partnership with Sorma Group, which selected Bulltec technology for a comprehensive approach to processing vegetables, greens, and tubers. The partnership covers the entire production process, from sorting to packaging. This synergy is further enhanced by a collaboration with RS Bilance, a Sicilian company that specializes in certified end-of-line weight checks.
"Thanks to these alliances, Bulltec can now supply system solutions and guarantee after-sales service throughout the country, including through Sorma's extensive network in southern Italy," Ricci points out.
