On Friday morning, in a winter-white and cold Kielce, the Polish agriculture and horticulture fair TSW kicked off. This two-day fair features a speaker program this year specifically focused on covered cultivation. That's new.

In addition, the fair pays attention to strawberry cultivation and discusses specific insights on the development of raspberry cultivation in Poland. Most of this takes place in Polish, but the fair organization also provides translations, and some parts of the speaker program are conducted in English.

Among the exhibitors, there are naturally many Polish companies. In addition, the fair markets itself as "the largest horticulture fair in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe." You will also find exhibitors from Italy and Spain, as well as several Dutch nurseries from the soft fruit sector who have come to Kielce. The city, with 180,000 inhabitants, is about a two-hour drive south of Warsaw, the capital where the TSW fair was held until a few years ago.

Natutec, new in Poland. The first growers are coming to see the innovation at TSW at Koppert's stand.
HortiDaily is visiting the fair this year and reporting on it. For those who happen to have traveled to Kielce for TSW: of course, a photo report will also be made at the Polish fair. As always, out editor can be recognized by a camera and notepad, and maybe a hat if he's not yet used to the real Eastern cold. That little bit of snow in the Netherlands? They laugh about it here in Poland :-).

And cold? No, according to the locals, it can get much colder, although the people waiting for the bus at the airport already found it cold enough. Another bus chat was less lighthearted: a woman waiting for the bus to Kyiv was worried about something other than the weather. At the fair in Kielce, the focus is on cultivation and the future, but not far away, there is war. That message came across clearly in English on Thursday afternoon. We will keep you updated on what else we learn.
