Greek growers affected as greenhouses smashed by winds

Crete is facing severe weather as strong, gusty winds sweep across the island, causing significant damage to crops and greenhouses. The storm, which began early Wednesday, has disrupted daily life and prompted safety measures in several communities.

Local growers report heavy losses as wind and cold weather have destroyed parts of greenhouse operations and outdoor crops. The storm adds to ongoing challenges for the region's agricultural sector, which relies heavily on greenhouse cultivation for key produce.
