Greenhouse-Qaztomat, one of Central Asia's largest producers of tomatoes and cucumbers, is planning a major expansion of its greenhouse operations in the Pavlodar region, Kazakhstan. The company will invest 10.7 billion tenge (approximately €18.0 million) to increase production capacity, according to regional authorities.
The expansion will add 10 hectares of greenhouse area, raising total output from around 15,000 tonnes to more than 20,000 tonnes of vegetables per year. Commissioning of the new greenhouse facilities is scheduled for December this year.
Greenhouse-Qaztomat supplies tomatoes and cucumbers primarily to large retail chains across Kazakhstan. As part of a memorandum with the regional administration, the company began supplying vegetables at fixed prices in the Pavlodar region from December 1, 2025. Since then, 58.5 tonnes of cucumbers and 7.5 tonnes of tomatoes have been delivered. In social retail outlets, cucumbers are sold at 980 tenge (€1.67) per kg and tomatoes at 925 tenge (€1.57) per kg.
In addition to domestic sales, the company exports a significant share of its production. Export volumes currently reach 8,300 tonnes. The greenhouse complex currently employs 450 people. Following the expansion, an additional 120 jobs are expected to be created.
