GreenTech Americas is in full preparation for its sixth edition, set to take place from 24 to 26 March at the Querétaro Centro de Congresos in Mexico. This edition will be bigger than ever, with an expected attendance of 5,800 horticulture professionals and 230 exhibitors. The event is unique as the only exhibition in Latin America specialized in controlled environment production of high-value crops. Once again, it will attract growers, suppliers, investors, and other industry experts from across the Americas. The three-day program focuses on exploring innovations, trends, and solutions that drive sustainable and efficient production.
"With a sold-out show floor featuring 230 exhibitors, GreenTech Americas 2026 is set to be our most dynamic edition yet. Visitors will discover advanced solutions aimed at high-quality crop production, improved energy and water efficiency, and cost reduction. Protected agriculture in Mexico continues to expand and now covers more than 51,850 hectares, producing 1.38 million tons of crops valued at USD 3.5 billion, according to SIAP and SADER data from 2022. The northeast region alone reached 6,114 hectares in 2023, adding more than 2,100 hectares year on year. This fast-growing sector plays a key role in rural development and global trade. In 2024, Mexico exported fruits and vegetables worth USD 20.25 billion, including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and lettuce, many of which are grown under protected systems, further reflecting the sector's momentum.

The event opens on Tuesday, 24 March, with an opening ceremony followed by a networking break, setting the tone for three days of exhibitions and knowledge exchange. New this year is the Innovation Award GreenTech Americas 2026 ceremony, which recognizes a technological solution that delivers measurable improvements in efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
Throughout the event, attendees can participate in a series of workshops and strategic conferences aligned with the overall congress theme, "From the greenhouse to the global market: Innovation and talent facing North America's new trade challenges." On Wednesday, 25 March, the program includes Power Day, which focuses on the theme "People first: Your people, your greatest asset." This day explores how corporate culture, strategic planning, and training contribute to efficiency, employee well-being, and retention, through presentations and moderated discussions led by industry leaders.
The program begins on Tuesday morning with a workshop on hydroponic leafy greens in Latin America, covering topics from greenhouse design to market success. This is followed by the official opening ceremony and sessions on financial resilience, crop protection innovations in screens and covers, and strategic exporting for accessing global markets. Wednesday's agenda continues with Power Day sessions, a keynote-led discussion on digital transformation in production by Erik Pekkeriet of Wageningen University & Research, and a session addressing the impact of U.S. trade pressure and the 17 percent tomato tariff. On Thursday, 26 March, the focus shifts to business continuity, team building through experience and inclusion, and collaborative knowledge sharing for the benefit of the entire industry.
