The court-appointed trustee in the bankruptcy of Plantenkwekerij Jongerius is currently in negotiations with a party regarding a potential restart of the company. The discussions focus on a full restart at the existing location in Houten.
Trustee Marco Guit of AMS Advocaten indicated that further clarity is expected once negotiations progress. The talks also include the possible sale of the company's real estate. "In addition, I am considering alternative scenarios, such as selling or leasing the site in Houten without it being part of a restart," he told GroentenNieuws, in response to an earlier report in de Volkskrant (link in Dutch). "One factor is that the location may be regarded as so-called 'warm land', meaning land with development potential."
Following the sudden closure of Plantenkwekerij Jongerius, many parties in the organic sector have reorganised their activities. De Volkskrant spoke with Wim van Marrewijk of GrowOrganiX and Jan Groen, spokesperson for Bionext, about the Jongerius case. At Van Marrewijk's greenhouse facilities, propagation activities are currently continuing at full capacity.
The trustee has not yet commented publicly on the underlying causes of the financial difficulties at Plantenkwekerij Jongerius. The most recent public update on the case was issued earlier in the bankruptcy process.
