Austria:

Frutura greenhouse project delayed

In Neudau, Styria, geothermal drilling for a large vegetable greenhouse belonging to Frutura GmbH was supposed to have already begun. In the future, products will be grown on 18 hectares, and around 250 jobs are expected to be created. However, the project has been delayed. The reason for the sudden delay is another geothermal project submitted in the immediate vicinity. And by none other than Therme Bad Blumau.

However, for environmental reasons, two projects cannot be implemented at the same time in such close proximity. Therefore, they must be reviewed by the authorities for feasibility, relevance, and added value to decide which one may commence first. "The additional costs that will now arise as a result of the delay cannot yet be estimated," says the landowner.
