Ellepot has announced the launch of their FlexAIR 2.0, the latest evolution of its fully automated system for high-capacity Ellepot production. "Building on the FlexAIR platform, FlexAIR 2.0 has been designed to support higher output, improved process control, and reliable, repeatable performance across a broader range of substrates, including peat-reduced and peat-free growing media", says Ellepot CEO Lars Steen Pedersen. "As propagation and young plant producers adapt to changing substrate availability, labour constraints, and increasing output requirements, the FlexAIR 2.0 has been developed to address these pressures through precision engineering, process stability, and system integration."

Wire-cutting system
|A key development of the FlexAIR 2.0 is the introduction of an all-new wire-cutting system. Lars explains it's designed for demanding substrates such as wood fibre and coco-peat. "The system delivers clean, consistent cutting even where substrate composition and structure vary. Beyond cut quality, the controlled cutting process reduces spillage and supports cleaner trays and cells, contributing to less wastage and consistent root development in young plants."
Output capacity
Output capacity has also been increased. Configured with up to 22 pipes, the FlexAIR 2.0 can deliver approximately 55,000–60,000 Ellepots per hour, depending on setup and operating conditions. "Importantly, the system has been engineered to maintain stable, repeatable performance at these higher output levels, supporting consistent production across long operating runs where reliability is critical."
Operator interaction has been refined through an upgraded touchscreen interface. Lars shows the interface provides a clear, centralised system overview with direct control of key production settings. "This level of visibility allows operators to respond quickly to changing conditions while helping to reduce operator intervention and maintain consistent output across shifts."
Ellepot Live
The FlexAIR 2.0 is Ellepot Live ready, enabling direct connection to Ellepot's production monitoring platform. Through this integration, growers and managers gain real-time insight into production performance, supporting improved oversight, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across sites or operating periods.
"Consistent plant development has also been a focus in the design of FlexAIR 2.0. Higher air content within the Ellepots results in softer pots, supporting the development of a uniform, fibrous root system. This consistency at the propagation stage underpins the goal of producing the perfect young plant", Lars continues, adding that, designed as part of a complete production platform, FlexAIR 2.0 is compatible with a wide range of upstream and downstream equipment, including seeding lines, sticking lines, irrigation units, and other inline systems.
According to Ellepot, the FlexAIR 2.0 reflects the company's continued focus on precision, consistency, and practical solutions that support evolving production requirements. The FlexAIR 2.0 is now available globally.
