Yesterday we spoke about growers expanding thanks to the acquisition of other growers, but in the supplying industry, acquisitions and sales are also continuing at a rapid pace. Although interest from private equity is much lower than a couple of years ago, the sales and acquisitions continue. Have a look and see what you might remember, or might have missed, from 2025.

Octiva has announced the acquisition of Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility, a manufacturer of mobility solutions in the greenhouse. Bioline acquires parasitoids specialist Viridaxis

Bioline AgroSciences has announced that Viridaxis, a Belgian company known for its high-quality parasitoids, is joining the Bioline Agrosciences group. Viridaxis has developed a unique technology for the mass rearing of several parasitoids that efficiently control aphids on crops and is considered the world leader in this field.

Viscon Plant Technology will transfer its spacing fork product portfolio (including all types of spacing forks and fixed forks) to Flier Systems as of 1 January 2026. This acquisition covers both the sale of new systems and the maintenance and aftercare of existing installations.

PB-tec acquires assets from the bankrupt estate of CE-Line

On 1 August 2025, PB-tec, specialised in horticultural technology and part of Atrium Agri, has acquired all assets from the bankrupt estate of CE-Line, which was declared bankrupt on July 22nd, 2025 by the Court of Midden-Nederland with appointment of Mr B.J. van Dijen as trustee. The acquisition includes, among other things, the intangible assets, inventory, IP rights, patents, stock, work in progress, and goodwill. With this acquisition, PB-tec and Atrium Agri aim to expand their knowledge and services in the field of water analysis.

Sakata Group acquired Agritu Sementes

Sakata Seed South America was founded in Brazil as Agroflora in 1968 and incorporated into the Sakata Group in 1994. The company, with more than 55 years of history in South America, announced that, through Sakata Seed Corporation, it had concluded negotiations and acquired all the shares of Agritu Sementes on May 30, 2025.

Denso acquires Axia Vegetable Seeds

Axia Vegetable Seeds is being acquired by Denso Corporation. The Dutch breeding company was previously in the hands of Singapore investment company Temasek.

Crux Agribotics acquired by VDL Groep

VDL Groep has announced the acquisition of Crux Agribotics, a family-owned industrial company based in Eindhoven. Crux Agribotics has 60 employees.

As part of VDL Groep, the robot packaging developer will be in a position to scale up faster internationally when it comes to the production, assembly, and delivery of automated sorting and packaging lines. This will allow the company to further expand its market position into greenhouse-related robotisation solutions.

BASF | Nunhems has agreed to acquire Noble Seeds Pvt. Ltd., a recognized player in India's vegetable seed sector. BASF | Nunhems will add two crops, cauliflower and radish, to its current portfolio, complementing existing crops such as hot peppers, watermelons, gourds, and tomatoes. The transaction is subject to statutory approval, which is expected by the end of Q1, 2026.

HerkuPlast goes Swiss

The Bachmann Group is expanding its company and taking over HerkuPlast Kubern GmbH on 1 January 2025. The two owner-managed companies bring decades of experience in the field of growing, cultivation and transport pallets.

The acquisition is driven by the wish of the HerkuPlast owners to ensure a stable future for the company. "The HerkuPlast factory continues operating as it currently does, and office staff remain the same", the team shares
