In the Eregli district of Konya, greenhouses utilizing modern soilless farming methods were set up with state support, and they have now produced their first strawberry harvest. These greenhouses, outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, will exemplify regional agriculture.
The inaugural strawberry harvest occurred in contemporary soilless farming greenhouses, which were backed by the Konya Plain Project (KOP) Administration in 2024 as part of the Rural Development Program and were provided to producers in 2025. Seedlings of strawberry plants that were put into these greenhouses, which were set up to foster innovative farming methods in the area, started producing fruit at a rapid pace. These facilities, employing soilless farming technologies, boost productivity and serve as a model for growers in the region to adopt modern production techniques.
A new era in agricultural production in Eregli has begun with the harvest of the first products. The successful results achieved were said to serve as a model for regional agriculture.
