MechaTronix prepares for growth with additional production capacity in Europe

After years of steady growth driven by increasing market share and rising global demand for LED grow lighting, MechaTronix is taking another step toward the future.

In the 2024–2025 season, the company took its first concrete steps into the North American market with the launch of its own production facility in Leamington, Ontario. Located in the heart of Canada's greenhouse horticulture region, this facility brings production closer to the customer. With a current capacity of 600 luminaires per day, the site forms a key pillar for further growth in North America.

Additional production capacity in Europe
Following the expansion in North America, MechaTronix is now further scaling up production in Europe to meet the growing global demand for LED grow lighting. In addition to its existing facilities in 's-Heerenberg and Doetinchem (the Netherlands), the first luminaires rolled off the production line in Treviso, Italy, this summer.

The Treviso site, originally operated under the Osram brand and now managed by Inventronics, is being revitalized as a modern production center for horticultural LED lighting. From the first quarter of 2026 onward, the facility will reach a production capacity of 1,000 grow lights per day. Significant investments are being made in automated SMT (Surface Mount Technology) lines for LED board assembly, as well as in high-tech final assembly lines.

CEO Koen Vangorp explains: "Although the buildings date back to the 1970s, the facility—especially its geographic location—is exceptionally well suited for future-oriented investments. The site covers a total area of 37,000 m², labor costs are competitive by European standards, and there is a strong availability of highly skilled workers, mainly from the local automotive sector. This expansion is part of a broader strategy through which MechaTronix aims to achieve further exponential growth in both market share and global presence in the coming years."
