Pepper growers 4evergreen and Kwekerij Helderman merge

Pepper growers 4evergreen, with a total area of 110 hectares, and Kwekerij Helderman, covering 45 hectares, will join forces as of 1 January 2026. The two companies will merge into a single organisation under the name 4evergreen. The management team will consist of Robert Grootscholte, Dennis Grootscholte, Arwin van Eijk, Johan Gunter and Ruud Helderman, whose arrival further strengthens the leadership of the company.

With this merger, 4evergreen expands its footprint to Agriport A7, alongside its existing sites in Terneuzen, Steenbergen, Sint Annaland and the Westland. Thanks to the available land positions and the modern, sustainable facilities at these locations, the company sees strong potential for future growth and development.

Ruud Helderman explains, "With this step, we are integrating our organisation into 4evergreen and immediately gain access to a wide range of specialists and professionals. Together, we are ambitious and see plenty of opportunities to continue growing and improving."

Robert Grootscholte adds, "Bringing in Helderman's locations and organisation allows us to further realise our growth ambitions. These are strong businesses in a region that really stands out when it comes to energy solutions and sustainability. On top of that, Ruud Helderman joining the management team strengthens the continuity and long-term vision of 4evergreen."

The merger is a deliberate step towards greater scale, enabling the organisation to be structured even more efficiently and professionally. This will help reinforce 4evergreen's position in the market and support its long-term strategy as a leading pepper grower.

For employees, very little will change in day-to-day operations. What will change is that colleagues across all locations will have more sparring partners to exchange knowledge with, helping to further optimise the already high standards within the company. Sales activities will continue to be handled under the banner of the Harvest House cooperative.
