Multilingual nursery management with image-based gap detection

Vegetable nurseries work with large volumes of young plants, seasonal production cycles and often highly fragmented orders. winTutor® IRIS is designed for this context: it follows the entire process, from customer order acquisition to sowing plans, through to shipping and invoicing. The system covers purchase orders and raw-material stock, greenhouses, germination chambers, grafting benches and treatments, with full traceability of batches, Green Passport management and all required compliance records. Qlik-based BI dashboards provide analysis and monitoring across all business areas. winTutor IRIS is developed by Selda Informatica, an Italian software company with over 40 years of experience and more than 40 active installations in vegetable nurseries.

Multilingual architecture, Cloud and integration
winTutor IRIS is natively multilingual and is already available in Italian and English. The interface language can be customized through an editable internal dictionary, allowing semi-automatic localization into the required language by translating the most common application terms. All winTutor IRIS functions are also available in a Cloud version. The solution can be integrated with international ERP systems such as SAP Business One, Microsoft Navision and Sage, so that winTutor IRIS fits into existing architectures and keeps administrative and accounting flows aligned.

Tablets and smartphones in the greenhouse
For day-to-day work, dedicated mobile modules allow staff to operate directly in the greenhouse: confirming sowings, managing entry and exit from germination chambers and grafting benches, laying out and moving batches, performing germination checks and final pre-shipment controls. A smartphone module also supports on-the-spot sales with customers in the Greenhouse, generating delivery notes by scanning barcodes on containers, without manual writing or handling of paper.

Agents' Portal
On the commercial side, the web-based Agents' Portal enables agents or representatives to enter customer orders remotely, with visibility limited to their own customer portfolio and with control over order status and progress.

Treatments
For crop protection, the "Treatments Management" module helps nurseries plan and record treatments in the greenhouse and meet the requirements of control bodies. It can also be connected to BDF, the Italian national plant protection products database, supporting correct and up-to-date use of authorised products.

Track32: Quality control through images
One of the latest innovations is integration with Track32 for photographic detection of gaps in young plants on trays and containers. Images captured in the greenhouse are processed by Track32 and the information on missing plants is imported into winTutor IRIS, which automatically updates germination rates, real availability and any non-conformities. This reduces time and errors in manual data entry and strengthens documentation for traceability and Green Passport compliance.
