The Netherlands is an exception to moderate EU tomato market in November

In most cases, tomato prices in November were lower than a year earlier. As is often the case, France was the exception. There, cherry and specialty tomatoes achieved better prices in November than in 2024. Across the European Union as a whole, tomato prices in November were below the five-year average, with an average price of €1.48 per kilo. The Netherlands stands out here as the notable exception, according to data from the EU tomato dashboard maintained by the European Commission.

In the Netherlands, average November prices were actually above the five-year average. Vine tomatoes reached an average price of €1.34 per kilo, which is 10% higher than the five-year average. Loose tomatoes were also slightly higher, at €0.83 per kilo, an increase of 2%. Cherry and specialty tomatoes performed particularly well, with an average price of €3.55 per kilo, no less than 30% above the five-year average.
