The Brest Oblast Executive Committee reached a co-investment agreement with Chinese partners on 7 December to build a modern greenhouse complex in Brest Oblast.
The deal was signed during a visit to China by a regional delegation led by Governor Piotr Parkhomchik, whose meetings in Shanghai also produced contracts for product supplies from local enterprises worth more than $7.3 million.
According to the Belarusian Embassy in China, the greenhouse project will cover more than 11 hectares and rely on Chinese technology to raise off-season vegetable output, beginning with a first stage of super-greenhouses. Chinese investment in Brest Oblast already exceeds $200 million, and the new agreement builds on talks held in September during Alyaksandr Lukashenka's visit to China, when several joint projects were discussed.

Those plans included vegetable and fruit production to be managed on the Belarusian side by businessman Siarhei Tsiatseryn in Vitebsk Region, as well as a separate flower-growing initiative presented by Council of the Republic member Dzmitry Baskau.
The Brest delegation's trip, which also featured talks with the leadership of Anhui Province, continues through 11 December.
