ioCrops, the Korean AgTech company known for its robotics, AI driven labour management platform and greenhouse automation technologies, has officially announced its expansion into the North American market. Led by co-founder Sohee Sim, who made her first trip to Canada back in early July, the company is quickly gaining traction among growers who see its technology not just as innovation, but as a reflection of their real world needs.
"Already servicing over 400+ farms globally, the decision to make North America our second home, seemed inevitable", says Sohee. With no intentions to slow down, she's setting her eyes on the US, Mexico and Europe, as she sees a growing trend between labour shortages globally at the forefront of the agriculture industry's biggest hurdle.

An engineer/cofounder, now leading a new frontier
Sohee, one of ioCrops' original co-founders, brings a rare combination of engineering expertise and on the ground operational understanding. Having worked at the intersection of technology development and greenhouse management, she now plays a central role in guiding ioCrops' North American strategy and building relationships directly with growers.
Her team's philosophy is simple: "Technology must align with growers, not the other way around."
"Because we're growers ourselves, we understand the pressures and the reality inside the greenhouse," Sohee explains. "We build tools for the work we've actually done, not just concepts on a whiteboard. We currently operate 17 acres of peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes."
A mission that's resonating with early adopters lead the momentum
While ioCrops is still new to the North American market, growers have responded quickly and positively "Without disclosing numbers, we can share that a series of early commercial agreements have already been signed across multiple greenhouse operation", reveals Jean Cordeiro, North American Sales Manager. "These early adopters placed their confidence in a company that was previously unknown in the region and their feedback has become one of ioCrops' greatest accelerators. Growers are now sharing their experiences with their peers, spreading the word that ioCrops is a company worth sitting down with, learning from, and seriously considering as a long term business partner."
This early endorsement has created a wave of momentum, one that ioCrops says it intends to honour and build upon. "We are incredibly grateful to the growers who believed in us from the start," says Sohee. "They took a chance and now they're helping guide and shape the next chapter of greenhouse technology in North America."

ioCrops enters this market with a technology value chain that includes Ation, its advanced labour-management platform, IoT-based irrigation sensors and slab weight scales, autonomous robotics, including Hermai and autonomous greenhouse sprayers, and AI-driven data insights powered by years of cultivation modelling
With demand for efficiency, labour stability, and rising costs, across the continent, ioCrops sees North America as the next major hub for greenhouse digitalization and automation.

Looking ahead, LGGE Expo & deeper collaboration
ioCrops will be showcasing its technology at the LGGE Expo on February 25, 2026, offering growers the chance to speak directly with the engineering and sales teams, explore the platform, and understand how the technology can integrate into their existing workflows.
The company emphasizes that its growth strategy is rooted in relationship building and not transactions. Ongoing conversations with growers, regular onsite visits with customer support, and long term partnerships, remain central to their expansion.
"Our goal is not just to enter the market," Sohee says. "It's to build trust, build community, and grow alongside the people who feed North America."
meet the team at the LGGE Expo this February 25, 2026.
