According to Almeria's week 48 monitoring report, the arrival of meteorological winter in Andalucía, combined with a cold front and successive storms, has tightened vegetable supply and pushed prices upward across nearly all crops. European demand currently exceeds available volumes, keeping prices well above last season's levels.

Peppers
Reduced planted area and lower yields due to Thrips parvispinus continue to constrain supply, supporting strong pricing. However, red and yellow California types show a slight price correction after spending a month in the range of 1,00 to 1,40 €/kg, suggesting they may have reached their ceiling for now.

Zucchini, cucumbers and eggplant
Weather instability has hit these crops the hardest. Supply to Almeria's auctions has decreased by 10 to 20 percent for zucchini and cucumbers and by 35 to 40 percent for eggplant. The tighter availability has triggered sharp week on week price increases: green zucchini is up 30 percent, Almeria cucumber up 42 percent and black eggplant up 75 percent.

Tomatoes
All commercial types show price recovery. With Northern Europe's season nearly finished and trade flows rebalancing, tomato-on-the-vine reports the strongest rebound, closing the week at around 0,80 €/kg and overtaking pear tomato at 0,76 €/kg. Smooth tomato remains the highest valued type, supported by limited supply.
