30MHz introduces RTR advice:

Automatic analysis for better climate decisions

30MHz, the platform that helps growers and greenhouse owners make smarter decisions with their climate data, has introduced its new RTR (Radiation Temperature Ratio) advice module. This tool helps growers reduce energy usage by an estimated 10 to 15 percent and cuts the time they spend searching through their data. The module turns RTR into a practical asset for weekly cultivation meetings by offering clear overviews, explanations and ready to use advice, all without requiring growers to analyze data themselves or factor in the ten day weather forecast.

RTR is a concept in horticulture that helps balance light and temperature for optimal plant growth. After six months of beta testing, the product is fully live. Growers receive a weekly report that automatically analyzes their climate data, detects deviations from target values and provides clear suggestions to improve plant balance and reduce energy use.

"The optimal balance between light and temperature at plant level is really important for© 30MHZ optimal growth. The new RTR strategy helps us with finding this optimal balance," says Gerben van Vugt, cultivation specialist at Anthura.

The weekly RTR suggestions report includes insights into RTR performance over the past week, deviations from targets and their causes, a trend overview of the grower's average RTR, and AI powered climate analysis based on personal greenhouse data. It also offers practical improvement suggestions and tips for the coming week based on the weather forecast.

This helps growers see what went well, where adjustments are needed and which actions to take. It is ideal for weekly crop meetings. One grower learned they could lower their winter temperature by 2.5°C, reducing energy use by 10 to 15 percent.

"RTR is a powerful tool to improve plant balance, but analysing it manually can take time," says Dax Denneboom, director at 30MHz. "We make AI work for growers in their everyday life."
