"Automation at different levels requires different solutions. Yet, we wanted to offer every grower access to the same insights, accuracy, and value that we're offering from our LUNA platform. That's why we took the high-tech solution that we have, and brought it to mid-tech and low-tech greenhouses." Speaking is Adam Greenberg with IUNU. The company, known for its AI-driven yield forecasting and computer vision systems, now unlocks these models in the new app Inscribe. "This release extends our leadership in precision growing, offering every grower access to the same insights, accuracy, and value trusted by the world's most successful operations"
Different calculating, same technology
The LUNA platform might be known by growers because of the robot that drives through the greenhouse and scans the crops using cameras. For the app users, this information can be gathered via their cellphone camera or via physical measuring and entering of the data. "It's a solution for growers in regions with lower labour costs", Adam explains.
IUNU's technology uses a significantly larger data sample size for crop registration than many manual and small sample systems, which according to the team results in superior accuracy across forecasting, labour analysis, and plant balance tracking. "Getting a high sample size is of vital importance to have statistical significance. In high-tech it's more logical to automate your registrations, but our models bring value to growers in other regions as well. Our models are validated across more than 1,000 hectares in dozens of countries, reflecting the largest real-world AI expertise in the industry."
For years, AI in horticulture has promised to simplify growing, Adam sees. "But what growers really need is accuracy they can trust. Anyone can build an app. The hard part is accuracy, trust, and results. We built this new integrated solution to prove that simplicity does not have to mean compromise. With the new app, we combine simplicity with scientific accuracy: the AI forecasting models, crop balance analytics, and growth insights, combined with an intuitive interface that allows growers at any automation level to benefit from the same science-driven intelligence that powers our high-tech customers. Simplify growing
"Automation delivers the highest value in high-tech greenhouses where an app makes no sense, but midtech and lowtech operations deserve to benefit from similar intelligence where an app at scale can drive value," Adam added. "By bringing our technology downstream, we are giving every grower the advantage of what we have already proven in the high-tech industry."
The app underscores IUNU's belief that different greenhouse types require different strategies. "Where many providers push a one-size-fits-all model, we deliver tiered solutions, camera-based precision systems for high-tech, and app-based insight tools for mid- and low-tech. This ensures the right technology for each level of automation."
The team explains this approach represents a fundamental shift in how the industry will adopt AI: scalable, data-driven, and tailored to the grower's operation rather than the other way around. "We embrace customization, allowing growers to own their dashboards and alerts, knowing that there is more than one correct way to analyze and optimize a greenhouse."
