VBT figures week 44

Belgium: Price of vine tomatoes lower than in recent years

More and more traditional, unlit crops are coming to an end. It's that time of year when local production gives way to imported produce. At the VBT (Association of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives), the average price for truss tomatoes in week 44 was just over €1.26, a bit lower than in the same week of the past two years. Loose tomatoes followed a similar trend, with an average price of €0.82 per kilo.

Cucumbers averaged €0.46 per piece, which is below the five-year average but still higher than in 2024.

For bell peppers, the average prices in week 44 were €1.33 for red, €0.76 for yellow, and €0.40 for green.
