According to Eurostat (Icex-Eurostat) data compiled by Hortoinfo, Spanish zucchini exports to the EU in the 2024/2025 season have increased by 26.16% compared to ten years ago.
From September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, EU member states imported a total of 493.91 million kilograms of zucchini, valued at 623.57 million euros, with an average price of 1.26 euros per kilogram.
Spain confirmed its position as the EU market's leading zucchini supplier, with 326.77 million kilograms, making up 66.16% of the total, worth 420.03 million euros, and an average price of 1.29 euros per kilogram.
Morocco ranked second with 36.3 million kilograms, representing 7.35% of the total, earning 33.86 million euros at an average price of 0.93 euros per kilo. Over the past decade, its sales to the European market have declined by 25.4%.
Germany ranked third, selling 30.28 million kilos (6.13% of the total) for a value of 44.5 million euros, and achieving the highest average price among the main suppliers: 1.47 euros per kilo.
Turkey ranked fourth, with 20.61 million kilos valued at 20.77 million euros at 1.01 euros per kilo, followed by the Netherlands, which exported 18.39 million kilos valued at 28.12 million euros (1.53 euros per kilo).
Italy ranked sixth with 17.71 million kilos and 27.31 million euros (1.54 euros per kilo), while France ranked seventh with 12.87 million kilos for 15.95 million euros and an average price of 1.24 euros per kilo.
