Open letter to strengthen UK horticulture announced by professionals

UK growers and colleagues across the horticultural, agricultural, and environmental sectors are invited to co-sign an open letter to UK Government ministers calling for coordinated action to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of UK horticulture.

"The letter draws on new evidence from our recently published paper, Protected and Productive: How Greenhouses Should Deliver UK Food Security, which was recently featured by a short interview in HortiDaily", says Sven P. Batke. "These findings highlight the urgent need for policy alignment, investment, and support for modern protected cropping systems to secure the UK's food future."

The open letter will be sent to the Secretaries of State for Defra, DESNZ, and MHCLG, and will be published publicly on Plants, People, Planet (New Phytologist Foundation).

If you wish to add your name as a co-signatory, you can do so at the link here.
