Court pauses claim against Gavita International customer

Gavita International confirms that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio has ordered a pause on the proceedings involving one of their customers, following a claim initiated by ams OSRAM. The court has further determined that Gavita International, as manufacturer of the Agrolux WEGA portfolio, will take the position directly in front of the customer in any ongoing or future proceedings related to this matter.

The case centers on luminaires from Gavita International's portfolio. The German company ams OSRAM filed a claim against a Gavita International customer, alleging possible infringement of intellectual property rights.

"This decision, now part of the public record, reinforces what we have always stood for: end users should not be held accountable for disputes between manufacturers over intellectual property. That's plain common sense. Our company has stepped forward to lead the case and actively defend our position, ensuring that our customers — the growers — can focus on what they do best: growing", says Marc Salvany, CEO Gavita International B.V. "We remain fully committed to transparency, partnership, and business continuity. The court has clarified the field — and now, we're on the pitch, ready to play. Gavita International will continue to act with integrity, bringing balance and common sense back to our industry."
