Northeast Greenhouse Conference to provide for crop protection credits in New England and New York

The Northeast Greenhouse Conference and Expo will take place on November 12 and 13, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown Hotel and Expo Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. Attendee registration is now open, and rooms at the DoubleTree are available at a discounted rate through October 19. Sponsor and exhibitor registration is also open.

This year's program features a robust lineup of educational sessions focused on pest management, offering pesticide applicators the opportunity to earn recertification credits for all six New England states as well as New York. Fourteen one-hour presentations have been approved for credit in New England, and twelve are approved for credit in New York. Two sessions, however, have been approved only for New England and not for New York.

On November 12, Raymond Cloyd from Kansas State University will present Pesticides and Pollinators: What are the Facts? and Identification of Mites in Greenhouse Production Systems. Samantha Willden from Cornell University will lead Managing Pesticide Resistance, while Anissa Poleatewich from Mycorrhizal Applications will present Improving Microbial Activity of Growing Media: How and Why. Nora Catlin from Cornell University will discuss Battling Bacteria – Tips on Identifying and Managing Bacterial Diseases in Greenhouse Crops, and Dominique Holtappels, also from Cornell, will cover Going Viral: Viruses in the Greenhouse.

Other November 12 highlights include a bilingual presentation by Anna Myerhoff from the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health, Pesticidas, la seguridad en el trabajo, y el equipo de protección personal/Pesticides, Workplace Safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Rosa Raudales from the University of Connecticut with Water Treatments Theory and Practice and Disease Identification of Common Ornamental Crops Grown in Greenhouses.

On November 13, Suzanne Wainwright-Evans of Bug Lady Consulting will lead Pesticides and Beneficials: The Challenge of Integrating them Effectively and Identifiable Key Pests of Ornamentals and Vegetables. Samantha Willden will return with Considering the Structure of Your Greenhouse for Pest Management, followed by sessions from Cornell University experts Margery Daughtrey on Managing Diseases Perpetuated by Fungi and Water Molds and Charlie Krasnow from the University of Connecticut on Winning Against Root Rots and Wilts: Management Strategies for Greenhouse Ornamentals.

The full schedule and session details can be found online, offering growers, researchers, and industry professionals a chance to expand their knowledge and network with peers across the Northeast.
