In the forty-first week of the year, zucchini and pepper prices in the agricultural auctions of Almeria increased significantly, according to data from Agroejido's board on Friday, October 10, consulted by Fhalmeria
All zucchini varieties are now priced above one euro per kilogram. Fine zucchini has risen to €1.24/kg, while fat zucchini is now at €1.07/kg, up 51 and 42 cents respectively over the previous week.
Peppers are also performing well. Palermo prices have recovered to €2.54/kg, matching red lamuyo, which is also up 55 cents. Green lamuyo peppers have gone up to €1.84/kg. Green California-type peppers now cost €1.31/kg, red California peppers €1.09/kg, and yellow California peppers, the only variety to decrease, now cost €0.67/kg. Additionally, green Italian peppers, which were not listed last week, now appear at €1.64/kg.
Cucumber and eggplant prices fall
In contrast, cucumber and eggplant have shown weaker performance, with price drops or little recovery.
French cucumbers have slightly improved but stay at just 0.43 €/kg, while the Almeria type has increased to €0.83/kg. Spanish cucumbers, which were around a euro last week, have now decreased to €0.65/kg.
All eggplant varieties' prices decreased. Striped eggplant prices decreased by 20 cents to €0.79/kg, and the long eggplant prices fell by 23 cents to €0.81/kg.
Sharp increase in beans
Beans have experienced a very positive week, with notable increases in the xera and helda varieties. The former increased by 31 cents to €5.22/kg, and the latter by 86 cents to €5.77/kg. Red Perona bean prices increased from €3.23 to €3.57/kg, and Snow Pea prices stood at €7.62/kg this week, one of the highest market values.
