The event highlighted the role of hydroponic lettuce in providing growers with options to deliver consistent harvests and quality leafy greens. Breeders, product specialists, and sales managers guided visitors through the demo greenhouse, where the latest lettuce varieties were presented. Anne Marie Schoevaars also shared insights on post-harvest handling of hydroponic lettuce, prompting discussion among participants.

Hydroponic cultivation methods discussed during the event included reduced water, fertilizer, and crop protection requirements compared to traditional farming. The absence of soil-borne diseases provides greater reliability, while produce grown with roots attached can offer longer shelf life. Year-round production potential was noted as particularly relevant for vertical farming and urban agriculture systems.
