Greenhouse farming is steadily developing in Kazakhstan's Atyrau region. One of the largest complexes is currently under construction in the Beibarys rural district. The project's total cost amounts to 10 billion tenge (approx.€15.7M), with a planned production capacity of 1,500 tons of vegetables per year.
A key feature of the new facility is its fully automated production process, setting it apart from conventional greenhouses.
This year, the region has implemented two investment projects in the greenhouse sector. According to the regional Department of Agriculture, there are currently 40 greenhouses operating across 22 hectares.
A regional plan has also been developed to further increase the number of greenhouse complexes. Starting next year, the total greenhouse area is expected to expand by an additional 4 hectares.
