KUBO celebrates 80th anniversary with sustainable gift from employees

Last weekend, KUBO Group celebrated its 80th anniversary together with employees and their partners at Kasteel de Ruwenberg in Sint-Michielsgestel. The anniversary weekend was all about connection, fun and looking back on eight decades of innovation. The party evening, with various performances and the presentation of a special gift, was the highlight.

A sustainable gift
As a symbol of 80 years of KUBO, the employees presented the management with a sustainable gift: 80 hectares of rainforest will be protected in Ecuador and 80 mangrove trees planted in Brazil.

In Ecuador, the Amazon project contributes to the protection of one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Living here include jaguars, tapirs and hundreds of bird species that depend on the rainforest. Protection prevents illegal logging and mining and supports the indigenous communities who live in the area and have managed the forest for generations.

In Brazil, the project focuses on restoring mangrove forests, which are among the most productive ecosystems in the world. The replanting restores habitats for fish, birds and manatees and strengthens local fishing communities. The project also creates sustainable jobs, at least half of which are for women, and helps protect coastlines from erosion and flooding.

Anniversary weekend full of connection
The anniversary weekend provided room for relaxation and joint activities. During the festive evening, employees and their partners enjoyed performances and the history of KUBO was extensively reflected upon. In a festive atmosphere, employees presented the sustainable gift to the management.

One of the employees says: "It felt good to make a gesture together that goes beyond this weekend. The gift symbolizes who we are: innovative, sustainable and together focused on the future."
