In Minsk and the Minsk region, large-scale greenhouse modernization will continue in the coming years. Cooperation with Chinese businesses that provide turnkey technological solutions for energy-efficient vegetable production is the main area of focus.
The Minsk Greenhouse Complex has already completed the modernization of its largest facility under the state program "Agri-Business." Upgrades to irrigation, ventilation, and shading systems reduced energy consumption while ensuring a stable microclimate for plants. Additionally, over 7,000 lighting fixtures with a 600-watt capacity each were installed, resulting in illumination levels of up to 20,000 lux. This has already yielded results: offseason cucumber output has doubled from 300 to 600 tons per month.
Tomato production is also showing strong performance, with average yields reaching 20–22 kilograms per square meter. This year, a record harvest of cherry tomatoes is expected, up to 45 tons. Alongside tomatoes and cucumbers, the assortment includes eggplants, peppers, and leafy greens.
The Zhdanovichi Agri-Complex is also investing in new construction. Work has begun on modern greenhouses covering 14 hectares, with the first tomato harvest expected next year. The project is designed around Chinese energy-efficient technologies, aiming to lower production costs while expanding the product range.
In parallel, a training and production facility is being built in the Dzerzhinsk district to prepare specialists for the operation and design of modern greenhouses. Developed in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, the site will also serve as an experimental platform for growing various vegetable crops under diverse climatic conditions.
