Speaking in Damascus, Syria, Turkey Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli declared that a roadmap has been devised and that a joint committee for agricultural activity between Turkey and Syria has been established. Yumakli stated that a greenhouse will be constructed in Syria that spans 20 blocks on 50,000 square meters.
Yumakli noted Turkey's assistance to the Syrian people, saying, "We are taking important steps in plant and animal production to ensure food supply security. After 13 years, we must now take extremely significant measures to address the problems caused by deteriorating infrastructure. We are here for that reason."
Yumakli stated that a joint committee was formed between the two nations to address agricultural advancements, that the Syrian Minister of Agriculture visited Turkey in April, and that this group had created a timeline. "Hopefully," Yumakli remarked, referring to President Erdogan's often-cited "win-win principle," "what is being done here will be extremely important for the Syrian people, rooted in brotherhood and neighborliness." Yumakli also gave details on projects in Syria, mentioning that a greenhouse with 20 blocks will be constructed on a 50,000-square-meter plot of land.
Yumakli added that they are supporting the agricultural inventory and farmer registration systems in Syria and noted that in the future, Syria's agricultural production will continue to be supported by Turkey.
