Gramoz Lima from the village of Suk 2 in Fier has been involved in agriculture for 10 years. On a 5-acre plot of land in a greenhouse, he has cultivated two agricultural crops, cucumbers and tomatoes. But this year, unfortunately, not a single kilogram of cucumbers has been sold; on the contrary, all production has gone to the canal instead of the market stalls, and it is not only the farmers who are to blame for this, but also the Ministry of Agriculture.
"The collection points don't want this cucumber, it's not worth a single lek, not a single kilogram, our children are left without bread. They say it's poisoned, oh state, do the analysis, build laboratories, don't just build warehouses, kiosks, all the lek of the AZHBR went to kiosks, not to us. If this product turns out to be poisoned, I'll go to jail," says the farmer. "If there is no market for the cucumber, on the other hand, the price that the collection points are buying the tomato doesn't even cover the production costs.
"This tomato costs 40 lek today, it's of better quality, it came out right, I'll pay you, if it doesn't come out right, send me to prison with my friends," says Lima.
If you think this product will go to market, you are wrong. Gramoz waited over a week for merchants to knock on his door to buy this product, but the opposite happened. They did not come, and as a result, this cucumber will go into the canal, to be used as livestock feed.
