Albania: Company owner who exported contaminated crops to Croatia jailed

The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Berat has set security measures for the three people arrested two days ago as part of the operation codenamed "Again", following the seizure of 8 tons of tomatoes with pesticides in Croatia and which had been exported from Albania.

After the court session held today, Judge Ardiola Çela ordered "Arrest in prison" for Mariglen Qorri, 40 years old, owner of a vegetable export company, and "House arrest" for Griselda Doksani, 25 years old, and Ronaldo Lika, 27 years old, both employees of the National Food Authority in Berat.

According to the Berat Prosecutor's Office, Mariglen Qorri is accused of "Importing, producing, selling and storing food dangerous to human health or life", "Fraud with food products", and "Forgery of documents".
