In the first half of 2025, the province of Almería exported a record high volume and value of cucumbers, according to a report by Hortoinfo based on data from the Estacom statistical service (Icex-Tax Agency).
Between January and June, Spain exported 390.31 million kilos of cucumbers, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2016. The total sales value reached €583.39 million, with an average price of €1.49/kg. Nine years ago, total revenue was €251.29 million, with an average price of €0.77/kg.
Almería accounted for 72.19% of national shipments, with 281.78 million kilos, generating €412 million. Both figures are record highs. Over the past decade, Almería's cucumber exports have grown by 23% in volume, from 228.91 million kilos in 2016.
Granada ranked second, with 34.53 million kilos (8.85% of total) worth €50.1 million, with an average price of €1.45/kg. Its sales increased by 4% compared to 2016.
Valencia was the third-largest exporting province, with 18.4 million kilos (4.72% of total) and a value of €32.08 million, at an average price of €1.74/kg. Unlike Almería and Granada, Valencian exports have declined by 6% over the past decade.
These results reinforce Almería's role as Spain's leading contributor to cucumber exports, which have reached record levels in both volume and value in the first half of the year.
