Strawberry grower deploys UV-C robot in rack cultivation

At the strawberry farm of Bert and Marlien Vervaet in Dorslaar, Netherlands, a UV-C robot has recently taken up its rounds. The robot, developed by Nouws Mechanisatie, was already demonstrated earlier this spring at another Flemish grower during a special demo day. More video footage of the machine in action can be found in the original article.

For Aardbeien Vervaet, this is actually their second UV-C robot—but the first one designed to operate outdoors between the strawberry rows. The robot is used to combat powdery mildew, allowing growers to reduce the use of crop protection products.
