Earlier this year, we reported that Flevoplant has decided to end its strawberry propagation and young plant production. To handle the brokerage of the site, René van Kester from AAB has been brought on board.

"We recently listed the location on www.glastuinbouwaanbod.nl to inform a wide audience," explains Van Kester. "It is a truly unique property, covering more than 14 hectares. The greenhouse, built in 2019/2020, has over 5 hectares of growing space and is not only suitable for strawberry propagation and cultivation, but also for pot or bedding plant production. With some adjustments, other crops could also be accommodated. Another unique feature is the additional 5 hectares available for expansion."

According to Van Kester, growers are buzzing with fresh energy after the summer holidays and are once again making plans. "There is no shortage of interest in this site, but of course, potential buyers are welcome to contact me to discuss the opportunities."

Although Flevoplant is stepping away from strawberry young plants, the company will continue with its well-known retail concept Summerking. As crop manager and next-generation representative Niels Goossens confirmed earlier this spring, that part of the business remains very much alive.
