Sakata Seed invites growers to discover new varieties all over the world

Sakata Seed Corporation is hosting a series of events across diverse regions aimed at showcasing their range of agricultural products tailored for various climates and growing conditions. On 24 and 25 September 2025, the company will participate in the West Africa Agri Show at the Grand Arena Hall, Accra International Conference Centre. Here, visitors will have the opportunity to explore varieties proven to perform well in hot climates, ensuring year-round production. Highlighted varieties include Shani F1, an all-year-round cabbage resistant to challenging conditions in West Africa, and Granate F1, an early onion variety resistant to Pink Root. The exhibition will also feature Espartano F1 and Hulk F1, sweet bell peppers ideal for open-field cultivation, each offering unique resistances to multiple diseases. In Germany, Sakata is inviting growers and seed distributors from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria to the Pfälzer Gemüsebautag trial station in Schifferstadt on 11 September 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to discover crops adapted to local conditions with disease resistance and quality yield. Notable varieties include Tinos F1, a summer-harvest broccoli with an excellent shape and dark green beads; PKC00005 F1, a Pak Choi with strong bolting tolerance; Genki F1, featuring Clubroot-resistant Chinese cabbage; and Mieluna F1, a productive squash variety known for its resistance to powdery mildew. Sicilian growers can look forward to the Zucchini Field Day, organized in collaboration with ESASEM, scheduled for winter 2025 in Ispica, Sicily. This event will spotlight two standout zucchini varieties, Eroika F1 and Sikana F1. Both are resistant to the New Delhi virus, offering secure production and adaptability to tunnel and greenhouse conditions. Eroika F1 is noted for its ability to be planted indoors in August and September, with excellent early winter crop characteristics, while Sikana F1 is optimized for August planting in greenhouses, promising early production and reduced labor needs. Now in its second year, Sakata's zucchini program is recognized for its compatibility with Sicily's climate and growing conditions.
