From November 1, 2025, Thwan van Gennip Groep (TVG) will take over Joosten Growers' site on Ploegstraat in Someren. The 14.6-hectare sweet pepper greenhouse will be converted after the season into a modern facility for the propagation of strawberry tray plants and cuttings. The conversion is expected to be completed in spring 2026. Current employees of Joosten Growers will join TVG.
With this acquisition, TVG is responding to the transition currently underway in strawberry propagation, where more and more plants are being produced in controlled environments. This approach results in higher quality, more consistent production, and a more sustainable process. The investment is fully in line with TVG's transition plan, which focuses on the future-proof and sustainable propagation of plant material. At the same time, the acquisition strengthens the organization and creates the need for new staff as TVG prepares for further growth.

Earlier, TVG also acquired another pepper greenhouse from Kwekerij Moors. After the 2024 season, the 6-hectare site was transferred to the strawberry specialist and converted for propagation.
Thwan van Gennip is a grower of strawberries and a specialist in the propagation of strawberry, asparagus, raspberry, and blackberry plants. The company's headquarters are located in Lierop, the Netherlands, with multiple sites and fields within a 45-kilometer radius. TVG supplies a growing number of national and international customers with both fresh produce and plant material.
