US (OR): Volunteers needed to aid state greenhouse industry

The Oregon Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the Nursery Advisory Committee. This committee plays a crucial role in advising and consulting with the department regarding the operations of the Nursery Program. The program itself is instrumental in supporting Oregon's thriving $1 billion Nursery & Greenhouse industry.

Members of the committee will have the opportunity to provide valuable input on a variety of topics. These include plant pest quarantines, which are essential for maintaining the health and safety of the state's plant life. Additionally, discussions will cover license fees, ensuring they are structured in a way that supports industry sustainability and growth. Another important area of input will be the program's organizational structure to ensure it effectively meets the needs of the industry and adapts to changing circumstances.

Interested applicants do not have to be a nursery grower/industry partner. In fact, the ODA says they are looking for diverse perspectives to contribute to a forum that has otherwise been primarily driven by nursery industry members.

Click here to learn more about the opening or to apply. The application deadline is Sunday the August 31st.
