VBT figures week 34

Tomato prices hold steady, cucumber and bell pepper prices decline

Belgian tomato prices didn't climb any further last week, but they did remain at a high level. This is shown in a new overview of average prices from the VBT auctions. For cucumbers and peppers, however, prices dropped at the auctions of the Association of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives (VBT).

For both cucumbers and peppers, the lower average prices in week 34 now mean they are no longer above the five-year average. Instead, they have settled right in line with that benchmark. Tomato prices, on the other hand, are still holding well above the five-year average.
